We are up and running!

Grace is becoming mobile again!

Today I took Grace for a short walk through the building where the care home is located.  She is very nervous walking on her own, and grabs tightly hold of me, but otherwise she is walking just fine.  I help her with dinner and serve her with jelly, I prepared, along with (carnation) condensed milk.  I feel terribly guilty about leaving, but I don’t want to spend the day rushing about and need some down time.

I’ve agreed with Isabel and A that I am going to talk to the nurse about Grace coming back to the apartment and walking up the stairs.    I think they are going to help me too, when I bring Grace back 😊

Isabel says she heard that Grace went to Ikea with me and strongly encourages me to keep taking Grace out when ever I can.   Returning to how things were 6 months ago.

Getting Birds to S@@T on Cars of Anti Social Parkers

I make my way to tanning lounge in Crosswijk, 10 minutes from the care home by car.    Typically, I go every 4-5 days.   I’ve gone for a sunbed with strong lights on the face and blimey I feel it when I’m finished after 20 minutes.  Sandor, the owner, notes I have flushed (very red) look.  I normally now hang around have a drink and we talk ‘stuff’.  Tonight, he is explaining how to deal with problem parker.  His grandmother taught him to use old bread around a car and leave the birds to eat it.  The result being the car gets covered in birds s@@t and the driver no longer wishes to park in the same place, meanwhile there is no evidence.  So smart!  I don’t think he realises he gives me a free 30 mins to 1 hour Dutch lesson every time I visit. Top bloke!
