I was the ladies’ taxi driver to and from beach at Hoek van Holland! Picture me, the dashing chauffeur, shuttling these ladies to and fro, collecting them like precious seashells on the sandy shore. It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it!
When picking them up, I brought Grace with me, and we then went to dinner at Mijn Torpedoloods.
They are great company and Grace loved being part of the evening. The food was also excellent.
Now, here comes the funny part. We had a bit of a hiccup because I, being the forgetful chauffeur that I am, managed to leave Grace’s wheelchair behind. So, in true MacGyver fashion, we had to Macarena our way out of the car and walk her to the table at the restaurant. Oh, the sight we must have been! And on the way back, we turned into a well-coordinated circus act, lifting Grace onto a chair like she was the star performer of our impromptu show. Cue the applause, please!
When we took Grace out of her wheelchair, it was like watching a suspense movie unfold. She clung onto us for dear life, gripping tighter than a limpet on a rock.
It was a fantastic day.
