Citizenship call

I got a call today from a lovely lady at the IND (Dutch immigration department), she says once I have passed my 2 last exams then have done the integration ceremony I can then apply for Dutch citizenship along side.  The only concern is that I did not live in the Netherlands for a period during 2021 (6 months), but she said they would consider these circumstances. Also they recognise I cannot live with her now, as she has to be in a care home.

3rd Book Started

I wrote my first words for my 3rd book.  The structure and ideas for content were already captured some time ago. My plan is for the book to be published by the end of January 2024.  I am really hoping I am going to have a lot of fun writing this book.

True Kindness all Around

I am deeply touched by how kind everyone is when they see me and Grace. People open doors for, stop at crossings patiently whilst we cross the road, help arrange tables and chairs for us when we sit down.  Tonight a young couple moved up on a bench at Cafe Steijn so that me and Grace could sit comfortably and sheltered from the rain.

Its just raining all the time

We had a lovely walked around the Oude Westen area of Rotterdam.  Stopping at Cafe Steijn on the Nieuwe Binnenweg for a few drinks.

The rain though just keeps on falling this August. Poor Grace, despite doing my best with the umbrella, go wet.

We struggled to find a restaurant that had wheelchair access.

Here is our Instagram reel.

Chinese for Dinner

We went to Tai Wu for dinner. After 10 minutes of waiting for a table (no one was in front of us) we finally got a table.  I am going to say that I felt like there was some prejudice towards Grace being in a wheelchair because we were given no attention for sometime.  The main thing is Grace was happy.
