Bacon and Egg Buttie

Took me until 0300 to get to sleep and then I woke up 1030.  Again, I wake up feeling crap.  I’ve taken a walk down to Alexander Heights shopping centre for breakfast, and has a fantastic coffee and a bacon & egg sandwich.

I have the feeling this month is going to be a write off in terms of getting anything done.  Priorities are Grace, 2nd Book and finding some work.

My Adenoids

At around 5 years of age I had my adenoids removed. Why? Because there was apparent (and continue to be for that matter) problems with my hearing. I remember as child doing numerous hearing tests in Hillingdon hospital, near Uxbridge in London.

But what are Adenoids? They are fleshy lumps of tissue that are out of sight located at the back of the inside of the nose and at the top of the throat. Together with the tonsils, they trap and destroy germs that enter the child’s mouth and nose. They are part of the immune system and help to fight infections.

It was original thought that removal of Adenoid had no impact on children, as they largely disappeared by the time you became a teenager. However, recent research suggests that suggests that removing a child’s adenoids or tonsils may increase their risk of developing respiratory, infectious, and allergic conditions later in life.  Now more and more I understand why I am more prone to irritation from dust and airco systems than other people.  Note my hearing has not improved either.  The removal of my adeniods could be the reason why I dont sleep well.

Speaking with Grace

I’ve had a chat with Grace and it was tough. I was crying on the phone as she tried her best to speak to me. I get no responses regards her personal needs.  I can’t do a video call with her, so that she can speak to her brothers.  But hey, no we know the team leader is not interested in the care of his residents.  It’s just his own ego that he wants to take care.  He has now stopped a volunteer from doing a call.  Nurses have been threatened with losing their jobs, a volunteer is worried about getting a job. What a toxic place it must be to work.
