Breakfast in Bed with Grace
I’m still tired but feeling more relaxed. I’m realizing that I need to switch off a bit. I’ve paused my writing and Spanish learning for a few days until I’m refreshed. I need to be at my best for those activities.
I arrived at the care home around 9:00 AM with fresh juice and croissants, which Grace and I shared for breakfast. I wonder if the kids will turn up. I want to give them the time and space they need with Grace.
Grace is sitting next to me, looking out the window and watching TV. She has photos of the kids in front of her, which reminds me that I need to get the photos from her old room.
Candlelit Christmas Concert
I took Grace to a candlelight concert last night at the Laurenskerk. It was a nice experience to get out, though I think the classical music experience at De Dolen was better. The staff were wonderful, helping us find a spot where Grace could see everything from her wheelchair. Like everyone else, I lay on gym mats or airbeds. I do my best to give Grace the richest life possible despite the FTD and to ensure we do things together as a couple.
