Changing Grace’s Sleeping Routine
Grace is sleeping really well. We’ve changed her routine compared to Laurens. Now, she’s awake throughout the day and in bed by 8:00 pm. This new arrangement works perfectly, as I can visit Grace whenever I want—no more restricted visiting hours. Her room is spacious, and the nurses bring her meals to the room, where I can assist her.

I’m still angry about Laurens. I need to find a solution and put things to rest, but I’m also prepared for a fight if necessary.

David’s Wellness Routine
I’m developing a routine now, focusing on my wellness. I’m going to the gym, focusing on my back, and using the sunbed. I just need to start swimming for cardio. I’m keeping myself busy, living my life to the fullest. I’m happy, and that’s what matters. I’m also focused on Grace’s Spanish lessons and working on my third book.

The thermostat hasn’t been working for the past three nights, which means I’m up frequently, heading to the toilet because I’m cold. I really need more blankets. It reminds me of being in Nepal, where it was freezing at night in houses without insulation, but we had thick blankets to keep warm.

Today, we went to the hairdresser to get Grace’s hair done—€180! But she looks amazing.

David Enjoying His Own Company
Is it strange to want to eat alone on a Saturday night? These days, I enjoy my own company. After a long day with Grace, I need some time for myself. I’m heading to Café Stobbe, just around the corner from the care home. The barman there knows my story, and he and the other staff are always welcoming.

I came back to my cold apartment (still no heating) and, like the past few nights, fell asleep straight away.
