Insomnia
It’s 3:34 AM, and I cannot sleep. I slept well for about 2–3 hours yesterday afternoon, and now, after sleeping since around 10:00 PM, I still can’t fall asleep. Ironically, I’m still working on Central European time since it’s 7:34 AM in Rotterdam.
Heading South of Rio
Yesterday, I drove south of Rio, taking a hire car and dropping it off in Angra dos Reis. It was a 2.5-hour drive and completely different from the north of Rio, with lots of green wooded areas and beautiful bays along the coast.
Arriving in Angra dos Reis, I finally found a hotel I wanted to stay at on Ilha Grande, about 30 minutes off the coast by speedboat. I thought I was heading somewhere idyllic, but I arrived in a bustling town. I grabbed a quick bite to eat and made my way to my hotel, which required another speedboat ride. The guy dropped me off 10–15 minutes from my destination, so I had to trek through a small forest to reach a small stretch of beach with cabins. Then I found my hotel on a private beach. 😊
